About the Artist

Debi is currently working as a full-time instructor in the Peoria Unified School District and as an ASU Mentor Teacher for teacher candidates. Having been trained as an illustrator, she explores themes of spirituality, symbolism, and use of color in her work. She loves to experiment with materials in the form of fiber collage, mixed media, and painting. 

Debi has a BFA in Illustration from the Parsons School of Design, New York, and an AAS degree in Advertising and Communications from Fashion Institute of Technology, New York. She has received the West Valley Art Teacher of the Year and the Pride of Peoria awards, has collaborated with local artists in community social activism, and taught workshops at the AAEA Conference.
