About the Artist

I am a landscape/animal artist captivated by the profound beauty of nature, and I choose the luxurious medium of oil to translate the serenity and allure that nature reveals to me. Whether immersed in the open air or within the confines of my studio, I am compelled to capture the interplay of light, color, and movement inherent in the subjects that grace my canvases. Each stroke of my brush and blend of hues narrate a visual tale, inviting others to partake in the enchantment that nature bestows.

From my earliest years, my passion for painting blossomed from the whimsical world of Snoopy comics to a fascination with animals and the individuals around me. A profound connection with nature developed during countless family camping excursions, steering my artistic focus toward the expansive tapestry that the natural world unfolds. My paintings serve as a compilation of diverse locales and moods that have stirred my soul. Frequently, observers remark on the serene quality of my work, feeling as if they are gazing out the window at the scenes depicted.

Despite life's divergence from the artistic path, advocated by my teachers, my commitment to painting endured. As a young adult, I studied under a professional wildlife artist and since then delved into professional classes and workshops. In 2018, I retired from teaching art to fully devote myself to this lifelong journey of artistic exploration. While I draw inspiration from esteemed artists like Thomas Moran, Carl Rungis, Susie M. Barstow and Albert Bierstadt, my greatest muse remains our Creator, whose perpetual creation fills our world with wonder. It is an inspiration that propels my artistic endeavors.

Nature provides beauty and solace to our oftentimes chaotic schedules. It is something worth preserving for all to enjoy. It's my desire to give back and with the sale of each of my works, ten percent will be donated to groups that work to protect our parks. I'm a member of the Sierra club, but also contribute to other groups that work to preserve parks and trails for the collective enjoyment of generations to come.
