About the Artist
John grew up in chilly Minnesota, where he lived until around 2013, when he finally moved to sunny Arizona to follow his love of painting and the wonderful west. A Plein-air artist, he enjoys painting direct in both oils and pastels which can be extremely challenging but truly amazing.
“You basically stand out in the elements with brush in hand and paint what you see trying to capture the light and shadow before it moves.” John is a member of the Arizona Pastel Artist Association and current President.
