About the Artist
I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. I moved to Washington State and later to Arizona in 2005. I consider myself always to have been “crafty,” enjoying jewelry-making, fused glass and pottery. My mother was a good hobby artist, so maybe there’s a gene involved in my case as well. Although I used to think that I couldn’t even draw stick people.
I guess that I am a late bloomer and still finding myself. Having already done fused glass and pottery I have now moved on to acrylic painting and acrylic pours.
Being fortunate to live in a retirement community that offers a variety of creativity classes, I took a creative art class and found that I could draw. I focused on abstract designs because that is my taste. While being abstract, my work includes bright colors, also used in my acrylic pours.
Though I am still finding myself, I am delighted to have found Ground Floor Artists.
