About the Artist
Art is the path to self expression. Through the art elements of line, shape, from, color and texture I can express my feelings on paper and canvas. I paint everything from realistic oil scenes to abstract mixed media paintings. My colors are bold and vibrant.
At times my watercolor paintings begin with a free spirit of dripping, running and flowing colors. After they are dried I turn the paper and discover subjects that I can develop. Often times the objects are flowers from nature that are organic and rhythmic. When I find myself loosing it in the paints I tighten up my style and draw the subjects on paper, then paint within the lines. Both styles include the bold colors. My watercolors may turn into mixed media paintings. Then I add handmade papers, threads, stamps and letters to the paintings.
I hope my viewers use their imagination as they try to find hints of words and letters in my paintings. I try to keep everyone guessing as how I did that or what material was used.
