Susie Brinegar
About the Artist
Susie Brinegar, a native of West Texas, graduated from North Texas State University with a degree in vocal performance and a minor in piano. She sang professionally in all mediums taught piano for 50 years. Susie picked up art at the age of 62 and began her studies at the Scottsdale Art School. She has studied with Phil Beck, Jane Wingfield, Joni Falk, Joshua Fallik, Maxine Johnston, Matt Smith, Tom Browning, Joe Anna Arnett, and Diane Leonard.
Susie works in oil and acrylic and enjoys painting in both the impressionistic style and the realism style. Her paintings are in the collection at Midwestern University in Phoenix and in museums in Texas and Taiwan.
"I very much enjoy knife painting because of the "carving" of the paint, but also love the subtlety of brush strokes. Landscapes and gardens are my favorite subjects."
