About the Artist
My journey in arts and handcrafts began at an early age, when my great grandmother introduced me to knitting and crochet. As a child and teen, I enjoyed building and painting models and sewing. As an adult, I’ve worked in jewelry, glass, and fiber arts, and I attended the prestigious Revere Academy of Jewelry in San Francisco in 2005. After developing issues with my wrists from making jewelry, I decided to try pottery instead, and fell in love with the potter’s wheel.
Today my main focus is on wheel-thrown ceramics, primarily functional work in porcelain clay, mid-century modern shapes, carving and sgraffito, stencils and transfers, and glaze experimentation. I also make functional hand-built works from stoneware clay. I’ve enjoyed taking classes in wheel work, hand building, and carving. I am a former member of Walnut Creek Clay Arts Guild (Walnut Creek, CA), and I currently have a home studio in Surprise, AZ.
