Next Generation – Teen arts program
Our Ground Floor Artists Next Generation program will provide weekly art classes to teen students over a period of 6 months at NO COST. Each class will be two hours long and will be taught by experienced, working and professional artists. The program will be offered to students in grades 11 - 12 who are interested in being a professional artist and will be held at Ground Floor Artists. Teen students will need to apply for the Ground Floor Artists - Next Generation Program through our application process below.
The program curriculum will be designed to introduce teen students to a variety of art forms and techniques, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media, just to name a few. Art exploration will take place for all classes in the first three months of the program. In the second half of the program, our teen students will then learn about building their personal brand and the benefit of building their creative brand early on. Establishing a personal brand will help our teen students stand out from their peers and increase their visibility in the college application process and in the art world. It involves developing a consistent and recognizable style, creating a cohesive body of work, and sharing their art through various channels, such as social media, exhibitions, and collaborations. Building a brand also requires artists to understand their target audience, identify their unique selling point, and communicate their values and message effectively. By doing so, they can establish themselves as reputable and professional artists, increase their opportunities for exposure and recognition, and ultimately, achieve their career goals.
In addition to developing their artistic skills, our teen students will also learn important life skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork through collaborating on art projects with their peers. The program will culminate in a month-long art exhibit where students will showcase their artwork to the community with an opening reception.
