“Frida Kahlo’s World” is open to artists in the United States. Artwork prepared for this exhibit represents aspects related to the Mexican Artist Frida Kahlo. Think of surrealism, color, self-portraits, Mexican folk art, sadness, illness, romance and other subjects that relate to her life and to her art.

Learn how to create a Paper portrait painting using photos for reference, acrylic paint, Gelli and citrasolv papers as well as other collage papers.

Noted author and historian Harry A. Ezratty, Esq. provides insights into Jewish American experiences in art, music, science, and history.
The Human Animal Connection
Combining the human and the animal images, a head will be constructed using basic hand building techniques with information on facial features. We will explore ways of developing personal symbols to allow the piece to have meaning and metaphor. After construction, the surfaces will be treated with dry clays, engobes and underglazes. Demos include construction techniques and a painterly approach to the wet surface.
